This course is open to all students in the Graduate Institute of Linguistics. |

課程目標 |
This graduate seminar focuses on analyzing lexical meanings with the aid of corpora and corpora-based tools, including the British National Corpus, Word Net, Suggested Upper Merged Ontology, Sinica Corpus, Sinica BOW, Chinese Sketch Engine, English Sketch Engine, AntConc, Wordsmith, Just the Word, and IWill. |

M.A. and Ph.D. students will be expected to prepare readings on lexical semantics, including writing synopses and critical analyses of the readings, write homework exercises and discuss them, and present their linguistic analyses in class. In-class tests will also be scheduled to evaluate the student’s ability to use the corpora and corpora-based tools and derive linguistic analyses from them. In addition, doctoral level students will be required to write a research paper. |
